As one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, Peterborough continues to progress its major regeneration plans.

With £600m of planned investment within walking distance from our Nene Wharf at Fletton Quays project alone, we like to stay up-to-date with the latest progress being made within the city.

Below, we have shared the latest on Gateway Peterborough, emerging plans for Newlands Park, the latest from Fletton Quays and investment in affordable housing at Oundle Road.

Gateway Peterborough

Leading US producer of spices and seasonings, McCormick & Company is due to open its latest site at Gateway Peterborough this year. Once complete, the site will employ circa 300 local people and is set to deliver the company’s first Net Zero Carbon Building.

McCormick & Company follows in the footsteps of other global companies, such as vegan milk producer Oatly, who have chosen to open new manufacturing centres at Gateway Peterborough.

Newlands Park

Following the success of Gateway Peterborough, proposals are being put together for a new 300-acre manufacturing and logistics hub near junction 17 of the A1. The emerging plans have already attracted interest from four companies thinking of relocating to the site, which has the potential to create up to 3,000 jobs.

The project will need to secure planning permission before going ahead and it is expected that construction will commence from 2023.

Fletton Quays

Construction continues to progress at Fletton Quays, including at our Nene Wharf development which is set to welcome its first residents very soon.

As part of the latest regeneration plans, Whitworth Mill has recently been secured by developers Lioncross Whitworth. The company is currently consulting with two design specialists on how they could develop the site and will reveal plans in due course.

Affordable homes at Oundle Road

Housing association Cross Key Homes have revealed plans to transform the former headquarters of British Sugar in Peterborough into 74 affordable homes. This represents a £14m investment, which will breathe new life into a notable local building for the benefit of local people. It is expected that the project team will submit a planning application in the coming weeks.
