The East Midlands city of Peterborough is listed among the prime buy-to-let locations in the UK for 2019, using data compiled from the national Land Registry and from online lettings information.

Peterborough scores highly for its rental yield, capital gains, rental price growth and transaction volume growth, alongside fellow Midlands cities Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton.

In the Peterborough Economic Intelligence Report 2019, produced by Opportunity Peterborough, the city is described as “an affordable and attractive location for employees to live”, with average earnings allowing salaries to stretch further than elsewhere.

Nevertheless, rising prosperity in the city means that there is increased competition for both existing and new housing, “a signal that Peterborough is being increasingly viewed as a desirable place to live,” the report concludes.

The city is also known for its clean, safe environment and the quality of its schools.

GRE Assets has a major residential development – Nene Wharf – in central Peterborough, close to many facilities and overlooking the River Nene.
