Designed by Hollaway Studio, the same award-winning architects behind Riverside Park, Elwick Place is one of the major regeneration projects in Ashford, which along with the likes of Curious Brewery and the expansion of Ashford Designer Outlet have transformed the town’s leisure offering over recent years.
The £75m restaurant and leisure hub opened in Ashford’s town centre in December 2018. Home to Macknade, Travelodge, Snap Fitness and Ashford Picturehouse, it is a popular spot with local residents, who are eager to return as Covid-19 restrictions ease.
Self-described as ‘a refined, modern event space with comfort and conviviality in mind’, The Gastronomist is the first of the new additions to Elwick Place. Once open it will offer unique dining experiences centred around six course tasting menus showcasing local produce and wine pairings.
It will offer an exciting events programme including guest chefs and ‘Meet the Producer’ evenings throughout the year. The space will also be available for private hire for special occasions.
Matches Sports Bar, Grill & Social
A new concept for Ashford, Matches Sports Bar, Grill & Social will provide ‘the ultimate Sports Bar experience’ and is set to become a great destination for socialising. As well as broadcasting live sport, there are plenty of other entertainment options including darts, pool, games machines and shuffleboard.
An onsite Burger & Wing kitchen will serve a variety of food, including vegetarian options to ensure there is something for everyone. As well as craft beers and cocktails on tap, self-pour beer booths are among the unique offering at Matches.
Due to open fully in May, Unità 4 will offer authentic Italian cuisine in a vibrant setting. Head chef and restauranteur, Damiano Vecchio is seeking to create a place for friends and family to come together.
The menu features Italian favourites, as well as dishes which make the most of seasonal ingredients. Unità 4 has a selection of Italian wines, beers and cocktails, which will be served from its statement brass bar.
The onsite Pasta Workshop kitchen will offer interactive classes where visitors can learn how to make fresh pasta from the team of chefs.
