Since 2006, GRE Assets has developed a strong reputation for providing great quality, well connected homes which lend themselves to modern living. This ethos has been implemented throughout projects in the UK and more recently in Spain since we expanded into that new market in 2013.

Over the past 14 years, GRE Assets has also adapted to meet and respond to the needs of residents not just in the short term, but the longer term too. Similarly COVID-19 has been a wakeup call for developers and prospective buyers alike – making the former consider the design of developments even more carefully and encouraging the latter to reassess priorities when choosing a new home. A recent survey by London estate agent, Dexters, found that home offices now top the list of property must haves.

In this blog post, we will explore what factors are considered increasingly important when finding a new home and how we have considered future living in the design of our developments.

Access to green space

A recent survey by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) found that 74% of those surveyed predict an increase in demand for homes for near parks and other green spaces. A key criteria when picking a location for our developments is ensuring that our resident achieve a balance between connectivity and proximity to outdoor space.

Riverside Park, our exciting residential project in Ashford, is a great example of achieving just this. The development is only a short walk from the town centre, 38 minutes to London St Pancras by train, and the homes overlook the River Stour and Victoria Park.

Balconies and terraces

A large proportion of our projects offer apartment living as they meet the needs of young professionals, who are one of our main demographics. This offering was even more important when we expanded into the Spanish market, where two thirds of the population live in apartments. Once again, the RICS survey seems to confirm that this demand is only going to as it reveals 81% people believe more people will want homes with balconies or gardens.

Our upcoming Brises Diagonal Mar development in the Poblenou neighbourhood of Barcelona will deliver 63 contemporary apartments all with spacious balconies and terraces. This shows that living in an apartment doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice outdoor space, in fact at Brises Diagonal Mar the balconies and terraces offer almost as much space as the apartments themselves.

Hyperoptic broadband

Spending more time at home and in particular working remotely has been a challenge for many due to poor internet connections, meaning high speed broadband is more important than ever.

Hyperoptic broadband not only gives you fast internet connections, but is also extremely easy when you move into a new property. There is no need to wait for an engineer as the routers have already been installed, all residents have to do is simply call the phone number provided and the connection is immediate. We first implemented hyperoptic at our Brighton Marina development and it has been an important part of our projects since to ensure our residents can successfully work from home or stream the latest box set.

GRE Assets has been delivering high quality, well connected homes in the UK and Spain since 2006.
